A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on April 6, 2022. There were four children in care ranging age from 14 months through 3.5 years old. Children in care totaled 13 points. The provider was the only caregiver present. The entire home inside and outside was reviewed during the inspection. The provider is in the process of remodeling the garage to use a child care space. The room is not yet finished. Children and household records were reviewed as well as evacuation drills, first aid kit and emergency equipment. Violations observed during the inspection were reviewed with the provider during the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-800-B Description: Based documentation review and interview the provider failed to annually review the emergency plan.
Evidence:
1 - The emergency plan available for review is not dated.
2 - The provider stated that she was not sure when the plan was last reviewed.Plan of Correction: Going forward the provider will document review of the emergency plan annually.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A Description: Based on review of documentation and interview the provider failed to ensure that emergency evacuation procedures are practiced monthly.
Evidence:
1 - The emergency evacuation log's most recent entry is dated 1/19/2022.
2 - The provider stated that while she thought she completed the drills she had not documented them.Plan of Correction: Going forward the provider will create an implement a method for documenting all emergency evacuations.
