Technical Assistance:
Discussed the small structure located on the cement porch and possible assigning it to a different location. Reminder that CPS Clearances are set to expire in September, 2022

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 5 children(13 points) directly supervised by the Provider. The home, staff and household records, 2 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today but the Provider is MAT certified. Children were observed playing freely, coloring, and telling the Inspector all about the egg hunt planned for the afternoon. Diapering procedures were also discussed. There was a supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-D
Description: Based on observation and interview it was determined the Provider does not use a diapering surface that is
nonabsorbent and washable.
Evidence:
1. The changing station had a pad that was covered in cloth. The Provider said she uses that area for the changes.
2. Provider explained she makes sure the child does not touch the surface when she changes the child but did not realize it was a problem because she cleans it every day.

Plan of Correction: I understand I need to use the nonabsorbent and will start to use that type.
