54.1 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

Provided consultation on standard:
1) 520 B: cribs shall not be used as a play space
2) 530 F: no soft bedding of any kind shall be used around infants including but not limited to stuffed toys
3) 580 B: caregiver shall provide age-appropriate activities for children in care throughout the day that are a) based on the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children and b) enhance the total development of children
4) 600 B: infants and toddlers shall spend no more than 30 minutes of consecutive time during waking hours confined in a crib, high chair or other confining piece of equipment
5) 630 A: caregivers shall use positive methods of discipline and include techniques such as: a) providing children with reasonable limits, b) giving positively worded direction, c) modeling and redirecting children to acceptable behavior, and d) arranging equipment, materials, activities, and schedules in a way that promotes desirable behavior
6) 640: forbidden actions: enclosure in a small, confined space or any space that the child cannot freely exit himself

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 1:15 - 2:00 pm with the provider. There were four children in care, ranging from ten months to four years of age, for a total of ten points. One child was observed playing with a variety of toys and the other three were waiting for lunch to be prepared. Lunch served today: hot dogs, baked beans, corn and milk. A total of four child records and one provider record were reviewed and in compliance. The last emergency escape drill was conducted: 3/15/22, the last shelter-in-place drill was conducted: 2/4/22 and the last lockdown drill was conducted: 2/4/22. The provider is not Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified and cannot administer medication to children in care.
