Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 4/21/22 and concluded on 4/22/22. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 5 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-680-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to assure caregivers washed hands with liquid soap and warm running water after diapering a child.

Evidence:

The assistant was observed diapering three children. The assistant did not wash hands after diapering any of the three children. The assistant did have gloves on and changed the gloved between each diapering.

Plan of Correction: The assistant has been advised to not only change gloves between each diapering but to also wash hands with liquid soap and warm running water between each diapering.
