Technical Assistance:
LI spoke with the provider about 8VAC20-800(11) during this inspection.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:00am-12:00pm. Upon arrival there were 5 children in care, totaling 11 points with the provider. Children were observed during free play, interacting with the provider, and educational activities. A sample of 2 children and 2 caregiver/household records were reviewed. No medications are administered and there were no injury reports to review. Areas of noncompliance are detailed on the violation notice and were discussed with the provider at the conclusion of this inspection.

Description: Based on observation it was determined the provider did not ensure that all poisonous materials were inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
The cabinet in the bathroom used by children in care was unlocked. There were medication and cleaning agents in this cabinet.

Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure cabinet is locked.
