8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 4/21/2022 to review supplemental health and safety requirements.
The subsidy requirements were reviewed this date; allergy action plans, staff trainings, nutrition and food services, recordkeeping, hazardous substances, reporting injuries, emergency plans and transportation.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Description: Based on interview, the provider did not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
Evidence:
1. The last attendance record the provider had was dated 6/03/2021. The provider stated she did have children attend in the past months, but did not take attendance.

Plan of Correction: I will start doing it by tomorrow.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-A
Description: Based on interview, the provider did not complete the Virginia Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff in 2021 or 2022..
Evidence:
1. The provider stated she had not completed the training. She had completed the three hour update on 9/10/2020 only.

Plan of Correction: I will complete it this weekend.
