The use of the VA Licensing Portal was discussed and encouraged to use for Central Registry Search.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:15am through 10:45 am. There were a total of six children (17 points) observed with two caregivers. A total of four children's files and three staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, games, diapering, hand washing, and other organized activities. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on record review, the family day home did not ensure that all staff undergo a repeat Virginia Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect search every five years.
Evidence:
1. Staff #2's (Date of hire-05/06/2016) record has a Central registry search completed on 03/08/2017. The Central Registry finding expired on 03/08/2022.Plan of Correction: The provider will submit a repeat Central Registry search using the provider portal.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-920 Description: Based on observation and interview, the menu for the current one week period was not posted or placed in an area accessible to the parents.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-B Description: Based on record review, children's records did not contain required information.
Evidence:
1. Child #1's record (Start date-01/16/2022) did not contain the name of the medical insurance or policy number.Plan of Correction: The provider will ask the parents to provide the information and document the record.
