Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on June 22, 2022 between the hours of approximately 11:28a.m. and 1:25 p.m. Fifteen (15) children were enrolled and thirteen children were in the care of three caregivers on this date (31 points). Four children's records, and four caregivers' records. Facility documents, posted information and safety equipment (first aid kit, flashlight, fire extinguisher and radio) were observed/reviewed. The lunch provided on this date included spaghetti and meatballs, blueberries and milk. Program observation was completed. Observed activities included: indoor play (toys); outdoor (water play); restroom, diapering and handwashing procedures; lunch; naptime and arrival/departure of children. Adult/child interactions, behavior guidance and daily routines/transitions were also observed. The children knew and followed the daily routine and transitions well. Two exceptions to compliance was noted on the accompanying Violation Notice. Thank you for your time and assistance during this inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-40-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that the total number of children receiving care did not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home.

Evidence:
1. The inspector observed the children in care at the family day home. There were twelve children in care.
2. During lunch approximately 12:38 pm an additional child arrived to the program and increased the number to thirteen children in care.
3. The provider confirmed that there were thirteen children in her care.

Plan of Correction: I will speak with the parents. They are to let me know when their kids are going to be here so this doesn't happen. It won't happen again.

Standard #: 8VAC20-820-120-E-2
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to post the most recent findings of the most recent inspection of the facility.

Evidence:
1. The most recent inspection was a mandated inspection on 12/20/2021. The inspection which was sent to the provider via email on 12/30/2021, was not posted.
2. Provider verified that the inspection posted was not the most current inspection.

Plan of Correction: I printed the other inspection and hung it up. I will print the inspections as soon as they are sent and hang it up.
