Infant walkers shall not be used

Discussed infant sleep requirements in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), infant walkers, behavioral guidance, behavioral interactions and paperwork including household member files, children's files.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 12:30 p.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m. with the provider. There were 5 children in care ages 10 months through 3 years old for a total of 12 points. Children were observed napping at the beginning of the inspection. Children woke during the inspection and transitioned to playing with play doh. Childcare areas and supplies were observed.

Three children's records, one provider record and two household member records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, emergency evacuation procedures (monthly fire drills) were not practiced monthly. Evidence: There was no documentation of fire drills for February, March, April, May of 2022.

Description: Based on review of documentation, not all children's records contained documentation of a physical exam within 30 days of attendance as required. Evidence: Child #2, start date 11/10/2022, did not have documentation of a physical in the file.
