An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 8/18/2022 from 10:30am-11:30am. There were 5 children (13 points) supervised by 2 direct caregivers. The home, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging freely and singing. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-E Description: Based on observation and staff interview, soiled disposable diapers and wipes were not disposed of in a leak-proof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.
Evidence:
1. Disposable diapers were not disposed in a trash can that is foot-operated.
2. The Provider stated that the foot operated trash can was in storage.Plan of Correction: I will bring out the diaper trash can today.
