Technical Assistance:

Reviewed safety practices when serving foods that are considered possible choking hazards. The provider reported that all required safety procedures are followed.

Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 8/31/2022. The provider and one assistant caregiver were caring for 5 children, totaling 16 points. The children were engaged in creative play activities, assembling puzzles, singing ABC songs, and preparing to go outside. The children were to be served chicken nuggets, french fries, bananas, and milk for lunch today. The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administrative records, caregiver training, children's records, child nutrition, programming, emergency preparedness, and the physical plant. Standard #:	8VAC20-800-60-B
Description:	Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that one record does not contain all required information. Evidence: Child record B does not include documentation indicating that the parent has completed an annual review of the child's contact information. This record was most recently reviewed by the parent on 7/5/2021.
Plan of Correction:	I will ask the parent to review the information today at pick up.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-80-C
Description:	Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that one record does not include documentation indicating that the provider has viewed the child's original proof of identification. Evidence; Child record C does not include the provider's documentation to show that the original proof of identification was viewed.
Plan of Correction:	I saw the original birth certificate but forgot to document it. I will ask the parent to bring the birth certificate again and I will document it in the child's file.
