Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection took place between the hours of 9:15 am and 10:35 am. There were 12 children with 2 caregivers within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing with trucks, leggos, and various other age appropriate toys. A complete inspection of the physical plant, first aid kit, children and caregiver records, fire drill log, outdoor space, required posted documents and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. No medications were on sight. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on record review and interview with the provider, the family day home did not have a written emergency preparedness and response plan.
Evidence:
1. No written emergency preparedness plan was available.

Description: Based on observation, the area of the family day home was not maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence: Visible cracked drywall in area where children play.

Plan of Correction: I will go to store today and get materials to fix the wall.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-B
Description: Based on observation, child-resistant protective covers were not installed on unused electrical outlets accessible to children under 5 years of age.
Evidence: 2 outlets in the bathroom that children use were missing protective covers.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver corrected during inspection on 8/15/22.
