Comments:
An unannounced monitoring nspection was conducted today from 10:35am-11:30am There were 12 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and eating snack. Diapering procedures were also observed or discussed. There was ample supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-730-D
Description: Based upon observation, medications for caregivers, were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking methodto prevent access by children.

Evidence: A non-perscription medication was located on the shelf across from the child cubby area infront of the sleeping room and not locked place as required.

Plan of Correction: Removed during inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based upon observation, potentionally poisonous substances were not stored in areas inaccessable to children.

Evidence: A cleaning agent was located on top of child cubby area potentially in reach of children in care.

Plan of Correction: Removed during inspection.
