Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on October 3, 2022. There were 8 children present, with 2 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed in free play and getting ready for lunch. A total of 3 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22.1-289.058
Description: Based on observation, the family day home, built before 2015, was not equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.
Evidence
The family day home did not have a carbon monoxide detector.

Plan of Correction: I will and get a carbon monoxide detector.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-750-A
Description: Based on observation, not all topical skin products were labeled with the child's name.
Evidence
Diaper creams located by the diaper changing table were not all labeled with the child's name.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure the names are on the diaper creams. Some of the names have rubbed off.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-800-A
Description: Based on review of emergency procedures, the family day home does not have a written emergency preparedness and response plan.
Evidence
There wasn't a written emergency preparedness and response plan available for review.

Plan of Correction: I have the emergency plan in the children's records, I will take that and expand upon on it to complete my emergency and response plan.

Description: Based on observation, bottles were not labeled with the current date.
Evidence
Bottles were labeled with the child's name, but not date was on the bottles.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure all bottles have the date on them.

Plan of Correction: I will review all the children's records and make sure all required document are in each record.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances were accessible to children.
Evidence
Bleach and cleaning supplies were accessible to children in an unlocked closet in the hallway.

Plan of Correction: Items were removed during the inspection. I will make sure all chemicals are inaccessible to the children.
