Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-40-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider failed to ensure the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home. Evidence: the attendance record for 10/19/2022 showed 16 children in care from approximately 3:20 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. when children arrived from school. The provider stated that she was over licensed capacity due to parents not picking up before the school agers arrived.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that the parents will be asked to pick up on time to avoid having more than 12 children present at any time.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-E
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to dispose of soiled diapers and wipes in a leak proof or plastic lined storage system that is foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver?s hand nor the soiled diaper touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. Evidence: there was a bag of diapers hanging on the changing table in the day care area. Staff 2 stated that the diapers were changed just prior to rest and she had planned to take them to the outside trash.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that diapers will be disposed of in the foot operated pail and will be immediately taken outside when taking to the trash.
