Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted this date. A total of 6 children (16pts) with 2 staff were present. Four of the children were sitting quietly in circle time when the Licensing Inspector arrived. 2 children were taking morning naps. A walk thru of the entire home (all 3 levels) was completed, observation of the program space located on the lower level was made along with the crib room and bathroom. The backyard area was divided into 3 areas. 1 area is not accessible to children for play. No medication needs or food allergies. One dietary intolerance identified. Observation of diapering procedures, hand washing procedures and transitioning from circle time to free play to morning snack was made. The home was found maintained and organized. New flooring noted on the lower level. Positive interaction was observed between staff and children as the Provider worked with the older children in selecting the beginning letter of their names and making beaded necklaces. A total of 5 children's records, all staff (2) and all household records (4) were reviewed. This inspection occurred between 9:40am and 11:15am. The previous violations were reviewed and corrective actions were verified. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
