Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-900-B
Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that the Provider did not prevent children from drinking while lying down.
Evidence:
1. The children were down on cots or in a crib for nap. Two children were observed on their cots lying down and drinking bottles.
2. A toddler was also observed in a crib lying down with a crib.
3. The Provider stated she only allowed it to help them calm as they don't drink enough at lunch.

Plan of Correction: I will no longer have children drink bottles while lying down.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-50-A
Description: Based on record review and observation it was determined the home did not keep written record of children on the day of the inspection.
Evidence:
1. Yesterdays attendance was reviewed but today's was not listed.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection. I will be sure to enter names as they arrive

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-A
Description: Based on interview, observation, and record review, it was determined the Provider did not maintain a record for a child presently enrolled.
Evidence:
1. A baby was observed and the Provider stated child #3 was a family member's child and that the provider was only watching temporarily before the child moved out of the country.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the legal guardian to fill out the paperwork as long as I am watching the child.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-170-B
Description: Based on record review, it was determined the provider did not obtain a TB Screening for caregiver #2 that was completed within the last 30 days before employment.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver 2 started in October of 2022 and TB Screening is from January of 2022.

Plan of Correction: I didn't realize the time frame changes from a year to 30 days and I will have her get a new one.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-570-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined the Provider did not ensure that a caregiver does not exceed 16 points.
Evidence:
1. There were 11 children present for a total of 35 points. There were two caregivers physically present.
2. The Provider stated that a caregiver was sent home for being sick and that another caregiver would be there soon. During the inspection, no one else arrived.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure I keep account of points and that I will have backup caregivers come immediately if someone has to leave.
