22.1 Background Checks Code, Carbon Monoxide

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/14/2022 from 9:20am to 10:40am. There were 6 children ages 20 months to age 4 years old (14 points) with the Provider. The programming area, attendance, outdoor playground area, menus, Provider, Assistant and Household member records, 6 children?s records, emergency drills, and emergency supplies were reviewed. There were no medications onsite. Children were observed participating in free play and snack. The Provider and Assistant are current with certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the Violation Notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 5pm on 12/16/22. Please email me at angela.dudek@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.

Description: Based on observation and Provider interview, the provider did not ensure that the home was equipped with at least one working carbon monoxide detector.

Evidence: During inspection, the Provider stated there was no carbon monoxide detector in the home.

Plan of Correction: Was unaware of standard. Ordered a carbon monoxide detector.
