An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted at 2:40pm. Observed 3 children = 8 points with the Provider + Adult Household Member #1. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were taking naps and eating an afternoon snack. The daycare areas of the home were found to be clean and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. The Provider is participating in the VQB5 quality curriculum offered by the State. An area of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed was found. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-770 Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that there was not a working battery-operated weather band radio in the home. Evidence: While there were multiple battery-operated radios none had a weather band. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she was unaware that the existing radio(s) did not include a weather-band and had been approved by previous inspectors for a period of years. The provider will purchase the required radio.
