Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding Standard 830-A: The emergency evacuation procedures shall be practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care. The monthly evacuation procedures shall be conducted every month, including the months when a shelter-in-place drill is conducted.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between the hours of 9:30am through 10:20am. There were a total of 3 children present ages three to four years (6 points) with the Provider and 1 assistant. A total of 3 children?s files and 2 staff files files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: engaging in age appropriate free play and eating snack. Positive interactions between caregivers and children were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the programming space, children and staff records, emergency drills, menu, attendance, and emergency procedures were completed today. No new staff have been hired since the last inspection. The provider advised there was no medication on site at the time of inspection. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials and toys. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain documentation of a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician prior to a child's attendance or within 30 days after the first day of attendance.

Evidence: Child #3 (Start Date: 8/1/2022) did not have a physical examination on file.

Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain documentation that all children are adequately immunized according to the requirements of ? 32.1-46 A of the Code of Virginia and applicable State Board of Health regulations.

Evidence: Child #3 (Start Date: 8/1/2022) did not have immunizations on file.
