The following was discussed with the licensee during the inspection:
8VAC20-800-570. Determining need for additional caregiver.
- Comments:

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 091/04/2022. There were 4 children present, totaling 9 points with 1 caregiver. A tour of the home was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with caregiver. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-430-B Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all requirements were met when having stairs in the home.
Evidence:
The licensee had a pressure mounted gate used as a protective barrier at the stair opening of the home.Plan of Correction: The licensee will put a child safety at the main childcare doorway so that the current protective barrier at the stairs can remain in place.
