Technical Assistance:
Discussion of the need to have enrolled children in care in order to determine compliance for all applicable standards of the Family Day Home (FDH). Such standards would need to be assessed in order to justify a continuance of the FDH license at the time of renewal. It is the intent of the conditional period for a 6 month license to establish a history of compliance in all applicable standards. If there are no children enrolled many of those standards will remain undetermined. The current license is set to expire 05/17/2023.

Discussion of a possible modification to the age range posted on the license. Please send a letter or email requesting this change to your LI.

Model forms were reviewed with the Provider on our website - childcare.virginia.gov

Comments:
This non-mandated unannounced monitoring inspection (NMI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 01/11/2023, between the hours of 10:30 am to 11:30 am. This was a following inspection to the initial inspection. There were no children in care, but 1 household child was present (2 points), with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant. Due to zero enrollment, there are still many standards that have remained undetermined since the conditional license was issued. A total of 1 caregiver's file, and 6 household files were reviewed.

The information gathered during the inspection determined that there was not a violation to an applicable standard, code, and/or law. Therefore, a Violation Notice was not issued.

If you should have any questions, please call or send an email to charlie.perkins@doe.virginia.gov. Thank you.
