An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:00pm-1:00pm. There were 5 children (13 points) directly supervised by the provider. The home, 1 staff record, 5 children?s records, 4 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and finishing lunch. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-430-B Description: Based on observation, a pressure mounted gate is being used as protective barrier at a stair opening.
Evidence:
An uninstalled pressure mounted gate is being used as protective barrier for the outside deck steps.Plan of Correction: We have ordered a new gate, meanwhile we have fixed the old one. The new gate will be fixed next week.
