Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 2/6/23 from 9:40am to 11:40am with the provider and one assistant. Initially the assistant was present with five children, the provider arrived later as well as an additional child. There were six children in care, ranging in age from 18-months to four-years-old, for a total of 13 points. Children were observed coloring, playing with toys at tabletops, having a snack, and going outside. Five child records, the provider record, one assistant record, two household member records, and one pet record were reviewed. The provider and assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider reported there was no medication on site, but she does have Medication Administration Training (MAT). Snack observed was graham crackers, apples, and water. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, fire extinguisher, and carbon monoxide detector were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-170-A
Description: Based on review of two household member records, the provider did not obtain a Tuberculosis (TB) screening from each adult household member prior to coming into contact with children. Evidence: The record for Household Member A did not contain the results of a TB screening. Household Member A turned 18 on 11/14/22.

Plan of Correction: A TB test was initiated on 2/6/23 and a copy was sent to the Licensing Inspector. Results will be submitted once received.
