Technical Assistance:

The next anticipated inspection will be the providers renewal inspection. Provider was reminded to have all renewal application documents submitted through the provider portal 45 days prior to expiration for processing. Links to the portal can be found on the VDOE website.

Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 2:20pm and 3:10pm. There were 4 children present with the Provider for a total of 8 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed napping, practicing spelling and writing with flash cards, playing with matching puzzles and other organized activities. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation. Standard #:	8VAC20-800-770
Description:	Based on observation and interview, there was not a working portable battery-operated weather band radio available to caregivers at all times. Evidence: The battery operated radio did not work during today's inspection.
Plan of Correction:	We will have to put new batteries in the radio.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-100-A
Description:	Based on record review, the provider did not obtain documentation of a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician prior to attendance or within 30 days after the first day of attendance for each child. Evidence: Child #4 (date of enrollment: 6/7/2021) record does not contain documentation of a physical exam.
Plan of Correction:	The family has a doctor appointment today. I will have them bring the physical.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-280
Description:	Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents and disinfectants, were not stored in areas inaccessible to children. Evidence: Several cleaning materials were observed in an open shelf above above the toilet in the children's bathroom.
Plan of Correction:	Cleaners were moved to the locked cabinet in the bathroom during the inspection.
