Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted today. A total of 7 children (19pts) with the Provider and 2 assistants were present during the inspection. The children were being served lunch with one infant sleeping in the crib room. Observation of the program space, outdoor play area, bathroom and a walk thru of the family day home was conducted today. The children were secured appropriately in high chairs with staff assisting with feeding those children that needed assistance. After lunch, diapering and hand washing procedures were observed with staff and children. One child was not feeling well and staff was observed holding them with positive interaction. The space was furnished with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children currently enrolled. The children transitioned to floor play where they enjoyed playing with cars, scooters and blocks/legos. One infant woke from their nap and was observed being held while bottle fed. No food allergies and no medication needs. All topical ointments were reviewed and labeled appropriately. A total of 4 children's records, all staff and household records were reviewed. The previous violations from the November inspection were reviewed and one repeated violation was found all other corrective actions were verified. This inspection occurred between 10am and 12:20pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
