Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 4/12/23 from 11:10am to 12:40pm with the provider and two assistants. There were seven children in care, ranging in age from nine-months to four-years-old, for a total of 19 points. Children were observed playing on the playground, coming in and washing their hands, and eating lunch. Three child records, the provider?s record, two assistant records, two household member records, and one pet record were reviewed. The provider and both assistants have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider understands that they must obtain re-certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication and reported that she and one assistant are signed up to take the course soon. Lunch served was chicken nuggets, french fries, bananas, and milk. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
