Technical support: Inspections for wood burning stove; TB tests and background checks; annual staff trainings; and electrical appliances.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/18/23 from 10:15 am to 11:15 am. There were 5 children (15 points) in care of two caregivers. 4 of the 5 children were observed sleeping in cribs. One child was observed engaged in free play. 2 children's records, emergency drill and attendance records were reviewed. Areas of non compliance are listed in the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-90-C Description: Based on records review, the family day home did not obtain documentation of additional immunizations for a child under two years of age, once every six months.
Evidence: The most recent immunization records in Child # 1's (1yr. old) file were dated 6/2022. Documentation of additional immunizations were not obtained after that date.Plan of Correction: Additional records will be requested.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-G Description: Based on staff interview, the provider did not get an annual inspection done for a wood burning stove and associated chimney by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the device is properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed.
Evidence: The provider stated that the stove has not been used, and an annual inspection was not conducted.Plan of Correction: An inspection will be scheduled.
