Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 4 children with 2 staff were present today. The children and staff were outside in the backyard when the Licensing Inspector arrived. The children were playing on the swing set with staff close by to ensure supervision and safety. The backyard was enhanced with new sod grass around the play areas. The children transitioned over to the water tables which were filled with water from a hose. Umbrellas were positioned to provide shade while the children were playing. The children assisted staff with clean up of the toys and equipment and moved inside to wash hands and prepare for lunch. Handwashing and diapering procedures were observed. The children were placed in high chairs and fastened appropriately. Lunch was served which consisted of sausage, white rice, black beans and fresh strawberries and blueberries with water and milk to drink. Observation of the program space, crib storage room, secondary play room and bathroom was made. The home was found maintained and organized. A total of 4 children's records and all staff and household records were reviewed today. Previous violations from the last inspection were reviewed and corrections were verified. This inspection occurred between 10:30am and 12:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-D
Description: Based on observation, the diapering surface was not cleaned and sanitized after each use.
Evidence:
The diapering surface was not cleaned with soap and water and then sanitized with bleach and water in between two children that had their diaper changed by Staff #2.

Plan of Correction: After the Licensing Inspector clarified the requirement, the surface was cleaned and sanitized immediately. The surface will continue to be cleaned and sanitized after each diaper change.
