Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/8/2023 at approximately 10:10am and concluded on 5/8/2023 and approximately 11:35am. There were a total of 8 children (17 points) observed with 3 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, games, movie time, lunch, bathroom breaks, hand washing, and other organized activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel and household members, physical environment, care of children, handwashing, diapering, medication, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 8 child records and 3 caregiver/household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please contact me if you have any questions at Mark.Davis@doe.virginia.gov or 804-629-7103.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-E
Description: Based on observation, soiled disposable diapers and wipes were not disposed of in a leak-proof or plastic lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.

Evidence: The plastic lined trashcan required the caregiver's hand to touch the surface during disposal.

Plan of Correction: Provider will purchase a foot operated trashcan.
