Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/13/2023 at approximately 11:45am and concluded on 2/13/2023 at approximately 1:00pm. There were a total of 5 children (11 points) observed with 1 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, games, lunch, bathroom breaks, hand washing, and other organized activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel and household members, physical environment, care of children, handwashing, diapering, medication, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 2 caregiver/household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-180-A
Description: Based on review of household files, and confirmed by provider, there was no report of Tuberculosis screening for an adult household member every two years.

Evidence: Household Member #1 did not have record of Tuberculosis screening.

Plan of Correction: Provider will obtain record of Tuberculosis screening.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based on tour of the home, potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals, pesticides, and petroleum distillates were not stored in areas inaccessible to children.

Evidence: Medication (Mucinex Fast Max) and lens cleaner were found on sink used by children in care.

Plan of Correction: Provider moved the medication and lens cleaner out of reach during the inspection.
