An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted June 22 2023 between 9:30am and 10:30am. There were 8 (17 points) children observed in the care of 2 caregivers. One child departed at approximately 9:35am. Children were observed playing with puzzles, playing organized games, and listening to stories. A review of all child records was conducted as well as a review of household and caregiver records. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-40-A Description: Based on direct observation, the provider did not ensure that the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home.
Evidence: There were 8 children in care at the beginning of the inspection. A child was picked up approximately 5 minutes into the inspection. The provider explained that the child was in care, but was visiting that day. The inspector explained that if any child receives care for compensation, than any child in the home, exclusive of the provider's own children, are considered in care.Plan of Correction: Not available online.
