Comments:
An unannounced on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 06/26/2023. There were 4 children, ages 20 months-3 years, and 1 staff member present at a total of 10 points. The inspector observed the following: lunch free choice activities, and story time. A total of 4 children?s records and 1 staff record and one household member. The inspector discussed the following with staff: MAT training and medication administration. The inspector arrived at 11:50 AM and departed at 1:10 PM.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-730-D
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that all medications were locked.

Evidence:

Observed medication sitting on top of the cubbies in a basket, unlocked medication for child # 3.

Plan of Correction: The provider will lock the medication in a cabinet in the kitchen.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that all poisonous materials were not accessible to the children in care.

Evidence:

There were two cleaning chemicals in the bathroom that is used by the children. One cleaning chemical was sitting behind the toilet and one sitting on the sink. Both chemicals were accessible to the children.

Plan of Correction: The cleaning Chemicals were locked under the sink on the day of the inspection.
