A renewal inspection was conducted today between 10:30am and 11:45am. There were 5 children present with 2 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed cutting and coloring. A total of 2 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-810 Description: Based on review of emergency procedures, a monthly evacuation drill was not practiced each month.
Evidence
On the monthly evacuation drill log, there was no documentation of a practice drill in the month on June, 2023.Plan of Correction: We had the drill, but I forgot to record it. I will make sure to always record the drill.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-290 Description: Based on observation, sharp objects were accessible to children.
Evidence
Razors were located in the bottom unlocked drawer in the bathroom the children use, making them accessible to children.Plan of Correction: The razors have been thrown away. I will make sure sharp items are not accessible to the children.
