Technical assistance: Children's records including immunizations and medication administration form; menu and outdoor play area.

Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 8/21/23 from 11:00 am to 12:00pm. There was 1 child present with 2 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. 1 child's record, 2 household member records, 2 caregiver's records and emergency drill records were reviewed. There were no medications on site.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observations, areas outside the family day home were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. A connector on the outside of the play equipment was broken, posing an injury hazard to children.
2. Broken pieces of plastic were found spread out on the grassy area under the play equipment.
3. A broken toy saw was found in the play equipment.
4. Debris and clutter was found in and around the climbing play equipment.

Plan of Correction: 1. Connector will be replaced on the outside of the play equipment.(8-29-23) 2. Pieces of the plastic were removed. 3. Toy saw was removed from play equipment. 4. Debris and clutter was cleaned off and removed. (8-22-23)
