A renewal inspection was conducted on September 1, 2023 with the provider and two assistants. There were 6 children present, ranging in ages from 10 months to 3 years, with 3 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 3 household member/caregiver records were reviewed. The children were eating lunch, playing outdoors, and preparing for rest.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on review of caregiver and household records, the provider failed to obtain a repeat background check in accordance with the Code of Virginia every five years.
Evidence: Caregiver 1 had a fingerprint check dated 5/18/2018, but did not have a repeat fingerprint check until 8/31/2023. Household member 2 had a fingerprint check dated 05/30/2018, but did not have a repeat fingerprint check on file.Plan of Correction: Caregiver 1 has a repeat fingerprint check. Household member 1 has an appointment scheduled for 9/5/2023.
