Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 8/22/23 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the provider and one assistant. There were four children in care, ranging in age from two to four-years-old, for a total of eight points. Children were observed in free play and eating lunch. Four child records, one household member and two staff records were reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider has current Medication Administration Training and there were no medications on site. Lunch served was chicken fingers, fries, oranges and milk. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure that the home, built prior to 2015, was equipped with a carbon monoxide detector.

Evidence: An interview revealed that the provider thought the smoke detector, located in the day care area of the home, was a carbon monoxide detector.

Description: Based on observation and interview the provider did not ensure that trampolines were not used during the hours children are in care.

Evidence: An interview with the provider revealed, the trampoline was used by children in her care, ages six to eight-years-old. The standard requires that trampolines are not used during the hours children are in care.
