An announced initial inspection was conducted on September 21, 2023, from 9:10am-11:25 am. At the time of entrance, no children were in care or enrolled. The inspector inspected the entire house, the childcare area is located in the lower level of the 3 story house. There is an abundance of space for the 12 children allowed per zoning. The provider will use the neighborhood playground. Emergency supplies and emergency preparedness plan was reviewed. Cribs were inspected. The inspector reviewed 3 caregiver, assistant and /household member records. Discussed the maintenance of children records and reviewed each form. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-350-E Description: Based on observation, the hot water at taps is not maintained in the range of 105 degrees to 120 degrees.
Evidence: The water temperature was measured at the childcare area kitchen sink. The water temperature was first measured at 126.7, then the temperature was adjusted but an hour later the temperature still measured above 120 at 124.9 degrees Fahrenheit.Plan of Correction: The water will continually be adjusted until it is below 120 degrees Fahrenheit. There are currently no children enrolled.
