Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 9/18/23 from 12:45pm to 2:00pm with the provider. There were three children in care, ranging in age from 15-months to 23-months-old, for a total of 10 points. Children were observed having free play, coloring, having their diapers changed, washing hands, and eating lunch. Three child records, three caregiver records, and three household member records were reviewed. The provider and two assistants have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider reported that there were no medications on site, but she has current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT). Lunch served was fried rice with egg, yogurt, applesauce, peas, and milk. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, fire extinguisher, and carbon monoxide detector were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
