Technical Assistance:
Discussed the importance of children facing staff while eating to ensure safety while eating.

Discussed methods of tracking annual review of children's records to ensure all information in records are updated.

Guidance will be provided regarding stickers with insect repellant and proper use.

Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted today. A total of 11 children (27pts) with the Provider and 2 assistants were onsite. At the beginning of the inspection, the children were divided into two groups. The younger group of children were playing in one program room. They were engaged with each other as the played with a kitchen set and pretending to bake cookies. The older children were seated on the carpet space watching a video program with staff while the Provider prepared lunch. Hand washing and diapering procedures were observed.The children lined up quietly, washed hands while staff supervised and sat at the tables for lunch. 4 children were in high chairs. Lunch today was chicken nuggets, cucumber and tomato and corn. Sliced peaches were served after the majority of lunch was eaten. Ample portions were available for second and third servings which were requested by the children. Hands were washed again and the children transitioned smoothly to nap time. The home was clean and well organized. Artwork on display such as paper soccer balls and fall leaves that were decorated with glued on candy corns. Observation of the home was made and the outside playground. Four cribs onsite along with cots that were individually labeled with children's names. One medication onsite and current medication training was verified. A total of 6 children's records, 3 staff and 3 household members records were reviewed. Records were organized and complete. Previous violation was reviewed and correction verified. No violations were found today. This inspection occurred between 10:45am and 12:30pm.
