Technical Assistance:

Discussed the importance of remaining in compliance with the terms of your license that includes the licensed capacity. Discussed the need to improve food preparation that is located on the upper level of the home and ways to transition all food preparation to the same level as the programming.

Comments:

An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted today. A total of 8 children (20pts) with 2 staff providing supervision was onsite. One additional child in care placed the provider over the licensed capacity of 7 children at any one time. The children were transitioning to lunch time. They were observed sitting at either small tables or high chairs. No medication needs and no food allergies are identified at this time. Discussed ways in which the transition to food preparation to serving and supervising can be improved by prepping meals ahead of time or relocating the food preparation area to the lower level. A total of 6 children's files, the Provider and the Assistant's file and all household member files( 3) were reviewed. Some violations were found today. Description:	Based on observation of the family day home on 11/01/2023, the provider failed to ensure compliance with the terms of the current license. Evidence: The family day home's current license has licensed capacity of 7 children. During the inspection a total of 8 children were presently in care.
