An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. There were two children in care with the provider for a total of six points. The children were observed resting and eating lunch. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and one provider records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on review of the provider?s record it was determined that not all background checks were repeated every five years. Evidence: 1.) An infant seat and play equipment was stacked on a child-size table that posed a potential falling hazard. 2.) There was evidence of what appeared to be cigarette ashes on two place-setting plates on the dinning room table. The dining room had an odor of cigarette smoke.
