An unannounced non-mandated inspection was conducted on 11/20/2023. There were 8 children, ages 7 months- 3 years, totaling 21 points and one caregiver present during the inspection. The inspector arrived for the inspection at approximately 9:10 am and departed at approximately 9:40 am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-900-B Description: REPEAT VIOLATION
Based on observations, the provider failed to ensure that children shall not be allowed to eat or drink while walking, running, playing, laying down, or riding in vehicles.
Evidence:

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-570-A Description: THIRD REPEAT VIOLATION
Based on observation, and record review, the provider failed to ensure that a caregiver does not exceed 16 points, determined by the point system in the standards, for each caregiver.
Evidence:
1. Upon the inspector?s arrival at approximately 9:10 am on 11/20/2023, there were 7 children, totaling 19 points, present and Caregiver 1 was the only caregiver present during the inspection.
2. At approximately 9:28 an additional child arrived for a total of 8 children, totaling 21 points and Caregiver 1 was the only caregiver present during the inspection.
3. The provider was previously found exceeding the number of points for one caregiver during inspections on 07/17/2023, 06/30/2023 and 06/22/2023.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
