An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/29/2023 from 10:15am to 11:15am. There were 4 children ages 10 months to age 2 years old (11 points) with the Provider. The programming area, attendance, menus, Provider record, 4 children?s records, emergency drills, emergency supplies, and policies were reviewed. There were no medications on site. The outdoor area was not inspected due to the weather. Children were observed participating in Television time, free play and snack. Handwashing procedures were also observed. The Provider had current certification in CPR and First Aid training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-50-A Description: Based on review of the written attendance record and interview with the Provider, the Provider did not ensure they maintained a written record of children in attendance each day.
Evidence: During the inspection in was determined there were 4 children present, but the written record reflected there were 7 children present.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-E Description: Based on observation, the Provider did not ensure that the diaper trash can is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.
Evidence: The diaper trash can foot pedal was broken, and the trash can could not be operated with the foot. To dispose of a diaper, the exterior of the trash can would have to be touched by either the diaper or the caregiver?s hand.Plan of Correction: Not available online.
