An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the director on November 28, 2023, beginning at 12:55pm and ending at 3:00pm. There were 45 children, ages 3 months through 4 years old, in the care of 6 direct care staff. The children were observed sleep or laying on resting cots during nap time. Ten children?s records were reviewed and in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and battery-operated radio were observed and in compliance. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. The menu, daily attendance, and emergency drill log were reviewed. The most recent evacuation drill was documented as 11/27/2023. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 10/19/2023. The most recent lockdown drill was documented as 3/6/2023. The most recent health inspection was dated 8/22/2023. The most recent fire inspection was dated 12/19/2022.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A Description: Based on a review of documentation, the provider failed to conduct practice emergency evacuation procedures monthly. Evidence: The most recent emergency evacuation drill was documented as 5/9/2023. There were no monthly evacuation drill documented for June, July, August, September, and October 2023. Plan of Correction: The provider will conducted and record monthly practice emergency evacuation drills moving forward.
