A monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/04/2023 between the hours of approximately 10:10 am and 11:10 am. At the time of entrance, there were 11 children present (30 points), ranging in ages from 10 months to 2 years, with 2 caregivers supervising. During the inspection, a third caregiver arrived.
Children were observed while playing with toys, cleaning up and dancing to music.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. There was no medication on site today. A total of 3 child records, 3 staff records and 1 household member record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-4 Description: Based on record review, the provider did not ensure to obtain a completed Sworn Statement every five years for all Household Members.
Evidence:
1) The Sworn Statement in the record for Household Member #1 was dated 11/08/2018.Plan of Correction: Completed.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-890 Description: Based on observation, food brought from the child?s home did not meet all requirements.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, 3 containers with milk brought from home for Child #1 were observed in the fdh?s fridge. These containers were not labeled or dated as required.Plan of Correction: Reminded the parents. It was corrected.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-B Description: *REPEAT VIOLATION*
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that all unused electrical outlets have child-resistant protective covers.
Evidence;
1) Two electric outlets were observed without protective covers in the dining room area.Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. The Provider covered the outlets with protective covers.
