Technical Assistance:

Provided consultation on standard: 1) 60B: All information is required on the child registration form. Encourage parents to use "N/A" rather than leaving a space blank if the information doesn't apply. The DOE model form found on our website, when complete, will have all required information. Written authorization is required if the child is to be taken off of the premises of the family day home. 2) 760A: the first aid kit shall include triangular bandages (indicating more than one) and a first aid manual 3) 880: when the family day home provides meals and snacks, they shall follow the most recent, age-appropriate requirements of the USDA Discussed ensuring that the most recent Family Day Standards (dated July 1, 2021) are available for review and reference.

Comments:

An announced initial inspection was conducted from 1:00 - 2:30 pm with the provider. There were no children in care at the time of the inspection, however four children are enrolled. The childcare area was observed and is large, organized and well equipped with an abundance of age-appropriate toys, equipment and educational materials. Reviewed and discussed the written attendance, first aid kit, battery operated flashlight and weather band radio, emergency preparedness plan, weekly menu, required posted information, and four child and two caregiver records. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid, but is not Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified and cannot administer medication to children in care. Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 4:00pm on Thursday, 12/14/2023. Description:	Based on review of documentation, and interview, the home does not have a written emergency preparedness and response plan that includes all required information. Evidence: the emergency plan provided was prepared by the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue and was not specific to the provider's home and did not contain all required components.

Description:	Based on review of the Parent Handbook Policies, it was determined that meals and snacks are not scheduled so there is a period of no more than three hours between each meal or snack.
