Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 12/13/2023 from 12:40 pm - 1:45 pm. At the time of entrance there were 9 children in care with 2 caregivers. The ages of children present counted for a total of 23 points.

The entire home and backyard play area was reviewed during this nap time inspection.
Records reviewed for both caregivers and 9 children in care.

One violation was found in the area of outdoor play equipment. This violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that outside equipment of the home shall be maintained in a safe condition.

Evidence:
1. The metal helicopter play structure was not secured to the ground resulting in the equipment lifting up if pressure was applied.
a. The metal ground support was no longer secured to the ground.
b. Injury could possibly occur if the structure were to lift up and fall over while in use by children.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that the ground support would be secured as soon as possible.
