Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted today between 8:50am and 10:00am. There were 5 children present with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed playing. Positive interactions were observed between caregiver and children. A total of 3 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Contact Nancy.Radcliffe@doe.virginia.gov or call 703-268-3728 if you have any questions regarding this inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-750-D
Description: Based on observation, topicals shall not be used beyond the expiration date.
Evidence:
Topicals were kept past their expiration date.

Plan of Correction: Topicals were thrown away during inspection. I will make sure to check for expired topicals.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-E
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not have a leak-proof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.
Evidence:
The garbage can that was used for the disposal of diapers was not hands free or foot operated.

Plan of Correction: I will order a new one.
