Technical Assistance:

1. Reviewed safe storage requirements for cleaning supplies. 2. Discussed documentation of dates on drill records and the length of time drills were being recorded to take.

Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted at 10:25am. There were no children observed to be in care today as the daycare was closed. The licensee agreed to allow the inspectors to observe the daycare areas of the home with a primary focus on the violations cited during the previous inspection. Some areas of compliance were not determined as there was no care being provided. Areas of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed were found. Standard #:	22.1-289.011-F
Description:	Repeat violation. Based on observations made, the findings from the most recent inspection were not posted in the home. Evidence: The violation notice from the 10/26/23 inspection was not posted.
Plan of Correction:	Violation notice from 10/26/23 WAS indeed posted AND available on my bulletin board.
Standard #:	22.1-289.023-A
Description:	Repeat violation. Based on observations made, the Notice of Intent issued by VDOE to reduce the licensed capacity and require the licensee to contact parents, guardian, or other responsible persons regarding health and safety violations was not posted in a prominent place at each public entrance of the licensed premises. Evidence: The Notice of Intent and supporting violation notices were not posted in the home. When being discussed the licensee removed the documents from a filing cabinet in the basement.
Plan of Correction:	All documents of documents mentioned were at hand in my cabinet. I was told not to post any notice until the decision was final, which is why the notice was not posted until I recently received it. The Notice of license capacity reduction is now available for responsible party viewing.

Description:	Repeat violation. Based on records requested, the emergency preparedness plan was not available for review by the inspectors. Evidence: The plan was requested and not provided during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:	Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-830-B
Description:	Repeat violation. Based on records reviewed, 1 of 2 shelter-in-place drills were not practiced in the last 12 months. Evidence: The only shelter-in-place drill recorded in the last year was dated 10/26/23.
Plan of Correction:	Corrected same day as inspection visit on 12/19/23, emergency preparedness plan was available, document was just located in a different folder.

Description:	Repeat violation. Based on records reviewed, 1 of 2 shelter-in-place drills were not practiced in the last 12 months. Evidence: The only shelter-in-place drill recorded in the last year was dated 10/26/23.
Plan of Correction:	Shelter in place/Evacuation drill was available on my bulletin board for viewing during the inspection visit. And it WAS completed within 12-months. October 2022 and October 2023.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-830-C
Description:	Based on records reviewed, the documentation of an emergency evacuation drill did not include the day it was completed. Evidence: The record stated "December" with no day specified.
Plan of Correction:	This was corrected to include the full date.
